Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Question: Are there any booking fees or per-person charges? Answer: No. All you are charged is the rental rate, a cleaning fee and 11% tax. Your security deposit is refundable.
Question: Can I walk to the beach? Answer: Yes. All of our properties have beach access.
Question: Do I need to being towels and sheets? Answer: No. All of our properties are fully furnished and equipped including linens, dishware, cooking utensils, appliances, telephones and cable TV.
Question: How do I get the keys to my vacation rental property when I arrive? Answer: Keys are picked up and dropped off at our office located at 2801 Estero Boulevard, Fort Myers Beach.
Question: How do I get the keys to my vacation rental property if I arrive after-hours? Answer: After hours arrivals can retrieve the property keys in our lockbox located next to our front door. The combination to the lockbox will be given to you in your Confirmation Agreement. Keys can also be returned to our office if your departure is early morning.
Question: Do the condominiums have elevators? Answer: Yes. All of our condominiums have elevators.
Question: What if there is an emergency while I'm here? Answer: You will be provided an emergency telephone number upon arrival that is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. For non-emergencies such as repairs please contact our office during business hours. For medical emergencies call 911.
Question: Do you accept credit cards? Answer: Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard and your credit card can be charged over the telephone.
Question: When will I receive my security deposit back? Answer: Approximately 4 to 6 weeks after your departure.
Question: Do I need to completely clean the property before I leave? Answer: No. Housekeeping will have the property ready for your arrival and will clean it after your departure. All of our properties are individually owned and there is an expectation to keep the property in reasonable condition and to keep up with the laundry during your stay. Daily or weekly housekeeping is available for an additional fee.
Question: Does Moonlight Properties, Inc. own the property I want to rent? Answer: No. Moonlight Properties, Inc. is a management company that handles vacation rentals for private property owners. Each property is individually owned and is decorated and equipped by the owner.
Question: Can I bring my pet? Answer. Pet friendly properties are determined by the condominium association's rules and regulations and/or the property owner. Pet friendly properties are designated on our website and in your Confirmation Agreement. If you will be bringing a pet there is a Pet Addendum required as well as a non-refundable $200.00 pet deposit due. You are responsible for your pet's behavior, as well as cleaning up after your pet.
Question: What if I need to cancel a reservation? Answer: If you notify Moonlight Properties, Inc. in writing at least 90 days prior to your arrival, your deposit will be refunded minus a $100.00 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 90 days of your scheduled arrival, you will forfeit the advance rent and security deposit. If you cancel within 60 days of your scheduled arrival, you forfeit all rental fees paid. If we are able to re-book the property, you may be refunded rental amounts based on the nights re-booked. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
Question: Do I need to rent a car to enjoy my vacation on Fort Myers Beach? Answer: No. Fort Myers Beach is a 7 mile long island and most properties are within walking distance to shopping, dining and services. All properties are within walking distance to the beach. We also have several public trolley's that will pick up and drop off anywhere on the island for $.50 per ride.
Question: Can I have overnight visitors at my vacation rental? Answer: Yes. You are welcome to have guests stay with you as long as the maximum occupancy for your vacation rental property isn't exceeded. We do not charge any per-person fees.
Question: Is there a telephone in the property and can I have the number before I arrive? Answer: Yes. All of our properties have a local telephone land line. Long distance calls must be made with your credit card, calling card or on your personal cell phone. If the property owner includes long distance you'll be notified prior to arrival. The telephone number in your property will be included on your Confirmation Agreement.
Question: Is there air conditioning available in my property? Answer: Yes. All of our properties have air conditioning and heating (although you won't need to use the heat here!)
Question: Why do I have to wait until 3:00PM to check in? Answer: Check out is at 10:00AM for the guest's departing before you so housekeeping needs time to properly prepare and inspect the accommodations for your arrival. In most cases, especially during peak season, housekeeping has several hundred properties they need to clean and inspect between the hours of 10:00-3:00. Please plan your trip accordingly.
Question: Why do I have to check out by 10:00AM? Answer: Housekeeping only has until 3:00PM to have the property you stayed in cleaned, inspected and ready for the next guest by 3:00PM check-in time. In most cases, especially during peak season, housekeeping has several hundred properties they need to clean and inspect between the hours of 10:00-3:00. Please plan your trip accordingly.
Question: When is high season and when is low season? Answer: High season is generally in the winter and spring months. Specifically December 15 - May 1.
